Movies in the park

This week is tech week for Rent, so I was at the theater all day and had the evening off. Finally, a night to spend with friends! We went to see Zoolander in the park with some cherries, some brownies, and some *cough* grape juice. It's so much more fun watching silly movies in a big group of people who don't mind yelling at the screen.

Today we had the sitzprobe (the first rehearsal with both actors and band, in which everyone just goes through the music once) for Rent in this awesome studio. One of the band members was essentially living there, and it felt just like a real-life version of Mark and Roger's apartment, complete with extension cords going everywhere.

I went up to the fancy mall on the north shore to get our knives sharpened today. In said mall, I found this crazy bathroom where the mirrors have no edges and both sides are identical, so you can barely see the mirrors at all. Cool, huh?

I went up to Simon Fraser University today to sort out some details for the fall, and got lost. (Not easy to do on their campus, which is small and well-laid-out.) I came across this neat living wall, which was covered with various vines and mosses and whatnot.

We went to the night market tonight, for some wonderful shaved ice/tapioca balls/mango chunks/sweetened condensed milk goodness. They had these trees on which you could hang your wishes. Most of the wishes hung had to do with getting or keeping boyfriends, or doing well in school.
